District Partners is partnering with a rapidly growing, private-equity-backed national wealth management organization at an exciting point in its evolution. The firm has expanded significantly through organic growth and strategic acquisitions and continues to invest heavily in the technology and infrastructure supporting its next stage of growth. AI and intelligent automation are a major part of that investment.
They are looking for their first dedicated AI Engineer, giving this person a unique opportunity to help shape how AI and automation are built, deployed and scaled across the enterprise.
This is not an AI research or model-training role. It sits at the intersection of AI, automation and software engineering, combining Python, RPA, APIs, enterprise integrations and Generative AI to solve real business problems and change how work gets done.
Initially, this will be a highly hands-on and independent engineering role. You will help establish the technical approach, patterns and foundation that could ultimately support a broader AI and automation capability across the organization.
What You'll Be Owning:
- Build end-to-end intelligent automations using Python, RPA, APIs, workflow technologies and Generative AI
- Develop AI agents and advanced workflows using Claude, ChatGPT and other enterprise AI platforms
- Break down complex business processes and determine what should be automated, how it should be automated and where AI can make the solution better
- Build unattended and human-in-the-loop automations for real-world business, regulatory and operational use cases
- Connect AI platforms with enterprise applications and data through APIs, integrations and MCP-based solutions
- Partner directly with technology and business leaders to take ideas from business problem through production implementation
- Help establish technical patterns, architecture and best practices for how AI and automation solutions are built across the organization
- Provide technical and architectural guidance around third-party AI and automation initiatives
- Help ensure solutions are built with security, governance and compliance in mind
What You Bring to the Table:
- Hands-on experience building RPA, workflow or business process automation solutions
- Strong Python development skills or comparable software engineering experience
- Practical experience building AI agents or advanced Generative AI workflows using Claude, ChatGPT or similar platforms
- Experience integrating applications, APIs, enterprise systems and data
- Proven experience taking automation, integration or software solutions from concept into production
- Ability to evaluate a business process, identify where automation and AI can create meaningful value, and independently engineer the right solution
- Technical maturity to operate independently and own solutions end to end in an environment where the AI engineering playbook is still being built
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering teams, business stakeholders and senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in Computer Science, Engineering or another technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
Nice to Have:
- Microsoft Power Platform or Power Automate experience.
- Experience building MCP servers or similar AI-to-enterprise integrations.
- Experience within a Microsoft-centric enterprise environment.
- Financial services, wealth management, banking or another regulated-industry background.
- Relevant Microsoft, automation, cloud or AI certifications.
What Success Looks Like:
- You've built things that made it into production and changed how people work
- You can point to business processes you've automated, explain why you chose a particular technical approach, and demonstrate measurable impact through reduced manual effort, greater efficiency or better business outcomes
- Most importantly, you think automation first and AI where it matters. You know when a straightforward workflow is the right answer, when Generative AI can unlock something more powerful, and how to bring the two together into a solution that works in the real world
