Senior Business Analyst – Legal Data & Innovation

📍 Remote (Must reside near NY, PA, DC, Reston, Boston, LA, SF, Santa Monica, Chicago, San Diego County, or Seattle for occasional onsite meetings)

💼 Full-Time | Competitive Compensation

District Partners is engaged by a global leader at the intersection of legal services and technology, helping to launch a newly formed innovation and data function. We're seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a strong grasp of how data is used in the legal industry—someone who can bridge the gap between legal stakeholders and technical teams as the organization builds out a new enterprise data lake and advances firmwide data modernization efforts.

This role will report directly to the Director of Data Science and play a key part in shaping how legal data is captured, organized, and activated across the firm. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting legal professionals (law firms or in-house legal teams) or other client-facing professional services environments, along with a proven ability to gather complex requirements, document workflows, and drive cross-functional alignment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the key liaison between attorneys, legal operations, and data engineering teams—ensuring business requirements are accurately translated into actionable technical specs
  • Support data initiatives tied to legal knowledge management, matter lifecycle reporting, compliance, and internal KPIs
  • Lead documentation and UAT for new data solutions while enforcing governance and confidentiality standards
  • Drive collaboration across departments to streamline how data is used to support client delivery, internal operations, and firmwide strategy
  • Help define business taxonomies and metadata structures that reflect legal processes and best practices

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a clear track record supporting legal teams or professional services organizations
  • Deep familiarity with legal data workflows (e.g., billing systems, document management, matter tracking, compliance reporting)
  • Experience leading data-centric projects such as migrations, integrations, and system upgrades
  • Strong comfort with tools like Power BI, SharePoint, or legal tech platforms; general familiarity with cloud data concepts (Azure preferred)
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, especially when interacting with attorneys and non-technical stakeholders
  • A highly collaborative, detail-oriented mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities across complex orgs

This is a high-impact, highly visible opportunity for a BA who understands legal operations and wants to help shape how data drives innovation in the industry.
