District Partners has been retained by a fast-growing Series A SaaS company, generating approximately $5M in revenue, to secure an experienced Accounting Consultant. This fully remote, project-based role focuses on leading the cleanup of the company's 2024 financials. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in financial reporting, expense categorization, and balance sheet reconciliation. A background in Public Accounting, complemented by Industry and/or Accounting Advisory experience, is highly preferred.
Key Focus Areas:
- Financial Review & Cleanup
- Identify and correct misclassified expenses impacting the P&L.
- Ensure accurate capitalization vs. expensing of fixed assets (adjusting for threshold compliance).
- Establish prepaid and amortization schedules for transactions requiring structured expense recognition.
- Address one-time expense spikes, smoothing them appropriately for accurate financial reporting.
- Accounting System Transition
- Assist in transitioning from legacy accounting software to a newly implemented system.
- Ensure all historical balances and entries migrate accurately.
- Accounts Payable & Balance Sheet Cleanup
- Reconcile outstanding payables to ensure accuracy and proper vendor categorization.
- Separate intercompany transactions into appropriate accounts.
- Support deferred revenue adjustments as needed.
- Strategic Financial Foundation
- Develop structured schedules for prepaid expenses and fixed assets.
- Implement controls to streamline accounting processes ahead of a potential Series B fundraising round.
Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in Public Accounting with experience in Industry and/or Accounting Advisory.
- Experience cleaning up financial statements for high-growth SaaS or startup environments.
- Hands-on experience with accounting system transitions.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote capacity while collaborating with key stakeholders.
