District Partners is partnering with a highly respected national professional services organization to identify a Senior Technical Trainer to support a large, fast-paced law firm environment.
This is a remote role aligned to one of the firm’s U.S. offices. Candidates must be based in or near Washington, DC; Chicago; Boston; or Denver. While the position is primarily remote, the Senior Technical Trainer will travel to the Washington, DC office approximately once per month for in-person training and collaboration.
Prior law firm experience is a must-have requirement. (This role is not suited for academic trainers or general IT trainers without direct exposure to law firm environments. The firm is seeking someone who can step in and deliver value immediately, without a prolonged ramp-up.)
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver new hire and ongoing technology training to attorneys and professional staff across the firm
• Lead engaging virtual instructor-led training, in-person sessions, and one-on-one coaching
• Design, develop, and maintain training curricula, job aids, and reference documentation
• Create and deliver e-learning content, including recorded sessions, microlearning, and self-paced modules
• Train users on legal-specific systems, workflows, and best practices
• Partner closely with IT, practice groups, and business stakeholders to assess training needs and improve technology adoption
• Support training related to document management systems and other legal applications
• Deliver occasional training outside standard business hours to support international offices
• Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously refine content based on feedback and system changes
• Participate in testing and rollout of new applications and technology initiatives
Required Skills and Experience (Must Have)
• Prior experience as a technical trainer within a law firm or legal services environment
• Hands-on experience training users on legal document management systems such as iManage or NetDocuments
• Strong understanding of law firm workflows and attorney-facing technology
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
• Proven ability to deliver polished, engaging virtual training with strong on-camera presence
• Experience developing e-learning content using tools such as Articulate, Captivate, or similar platforms
• Ability to train both small groups (typically 10–20 participants) and individuals
• Strong communication skills and confidence training attorneys and senior professionals
• Willingness to travel to Washington, DC approximately 12 times per year
• Flexibility to occasionally support training outside standard business hours
Preferred Experience
• Advanced Adobe Acrobat expertise, including forms, workflows, and redaction
• Experience supporting law firm new hire orientation programs
• Background in professional services environments with high expectations and tight timelines
• Consultative mindset focused on adoption, efficiency, and workflow improvement
Compensation
• Target salary range up to $111,000, depending on experience
• Travel expenses for required in-person sessions are covered separately and are not deducted from compensation
