Lead Workday HCM Time Tracking & Absence Consultant

Why You'll Actually Care

District Partners is exclusively representing a global technology consulting firm with an established Workday practice serving clients across North America and internationally. The firm is strengthening its HCM delivery team, with multiple openings for senior time tracking and absence consultants who bring deep functional expertise and the presence to lead customer conversations. You will own complex implementations, advise senior stakeholders, and help shape delivery across these connected functional areas.

The Basics

The firm helps organizations modernize how they manage their people, operations, and enterprise systems, combining technology consulting with a substantial Workday services practice. Its engagements span implementation, optimization, and ongoing support, offering exposure to varied customer environments and business challenges. These opportunities combine the resources of an established global firm with hands-on ownership of customer delivery.

What You'll Be Owning

  • Time tracking and absence solutions that translate customer time and leave requirements into effective functional configuration.
  • Workstream delivery across discovery, design, testing, and deployment, with accountability for quality and customer commitments.
  • Coordination with Core HCM, payroll, and technical consultants to address dependencies and downstream payroll impacts.
  • Customer conversations that build alignment around solution decisions, manage expectations, and resolve complex functional issues.
  • Practical mentoring that strengthens junior consultants’ configuration and delivery capabilities.

The Environment

The HCM consulting team is being reorganized, with multiple senior hires needed to strengthen delivery across priority functional areas. You will work on billable customer engagements supporting clients across North America, collaborate across specialties, and mentor junior colleagues. These are visible, client-facing roles requiring polished communication and a professional, composed demeanor; prior people management experience is not required.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Required certifications: Workday HCM/Core HCM, Workday Time Tracking and Workday Absence, OR similar.
  • 8+ years of Workday HCM implementation experience, including substantial hands-on expertise in both time tracking and absence and a track record of independently leading complex client deployments.
  • Experience owning functional design, configuration, testing, and deployment, including coordination of dependencies across Core HCM and Payroll.
  • Executive presence and a strong client-facing demeanor: the ability to lead conversations with senior stakeholders, explain recommendations clearly, and maintain credibility when priorities compete or delivery becomes challenging.
  • Sound functional judgment, collaborative problem solving, and accountability for customer outcomes.
  • Workday consulting partner or professional services experience preferred, with enterprise implementations or post-deployment/AMS experience also valued.
  • Additional relevant certifications are a plus. Examples include Workday Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent/Performance, Learning, HCM Reporting, and Security.
