Job Description:
A leading global law firm is seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to join its team. This role supports the execution of strategic go-to-market initiatives that generate new client relationships, enhance brand profile, and drive revenue opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with experience building rapport with key stakeholders, developing subject-matter knowledge, and providing strategic and tactical support for business development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage planning and production of materials to highlight corporate, M&A, private equity, and securities capabilities.
- Identify and implement initiatives for generating new client relationships and enhancing brand profile.
- Analyze and develop engagement opportunities with potential clients based on business plans.
- Coordinate with partners on thought leadership, client alerts, and external publications.
- Oversee production of external communications and ensure brand adherence.
- Mentor and coach team members on business development best practices.
- Leverage social media and marketing channels to enhance the firm’s industry presence.
- Track and analyze client engagement activities in CRM systems and generate reports.
- Plan and coordinate industry conferences, client events, and sponsorships.
- Draft and coordinate submissions for legal directories such as Chambers and Legal 500.
- Develop internal communications to promote engagement activities and training programs.
- Update internal platforms to raise awareness of initiatives and business opportunities.
- Manage marketing-related invoices, budgets, and check requests.
- Assist in onboarding new team members and lateral hires.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in business development, preferably in a professional services or law firm setting.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong business acumen with experience analyzing legal and market trends.
- Subject-matter knowledge in corporate M&A, private equity, and securities law; experience with financial institutions or energy sectors is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; experience with CRM and experience management systems is a plus.
