Dahlia Recruitment - Renewables are partnered with an exciting start up business to recruit a Feedstock and Business Development Manager covering Northern France. The company aim to become a pioneer in renewable solutions for gases and industries. Their key objective is develop food waste Anaerobic Digestion plants in Western Europe as well as Carbon Capture & Storage projects under a build, own and operate business model.
Job Description
Lead the front end development including the pre-project definition, management of commercials (including but not limited to feedstock, stakeholder, digestate) and permitting of developments in the North West of France with a first construction/environmental permit application to be secured in the first half of 2026. The role will lead feedstock securing, targeting Food Waste for the region.
Responsibilities:
● Drive the development of 2 Anaerobic Digestion plants up to a “Ready to Build” stage.
● Serve as the primary relationship and communication channel with waste sector clients. Drive the securing of feedstock for the 2 initial developments, including commercials, logistic planning and contract management.
● Drive the securing of digestate off taking for the 2 initial developments, including commercials, logistic planning and contract management. Communication with farmers and farming cooperatives.
● Lead feasibility studies for the new potential sites.
● Manage technical/regulatory/contractual development activities with support from back office technical and financing resources. Manage the development of build-to-operate opportunities, including permitting, feedstock agreements, offtake agreements, and lease agreements through completion and contract execution. Collaborate extensively with engineering, finance, and construction partners.
● Define and update development and project (construction) programmes until the “Ready to build” stage.
● Review and refresh marketing efforts, expand in existing markets, and develop new market penetration strategies. Monitor and communicate new products, industry trends, competitor strengths and weaknesses, and lessons learned.
● Develop and monitor the project development budget.
Education, Skills & Experience:
● Go-to attitude with a solution and cooperation driven approach.
● Engineering/Technical background preferred with specialisation in the agro-industry or previous experience in the waste or food sector.
● Technical understanding of wastewater, biogas, anaerobic digestion, and/or municipal solid waste.
● Knowledge about local and national regulations for waste diversion and recycling, especially within the organics sector.
● Proficient user of the google application suite incl. Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Lucidchart.
● Driving licence needed - travelling in Hauts de France & Normandy required.
