About The Role
The Director, Business Development, Bioanalytical is responsible for developing and maintaining solid business relationships with clients within a specified territory, ensuring long-term and successful partnerships. Through market analyses, networking, and cross-selling, the Director of Business Development identifies trends and develops sales strategies to meet business needs. This role plays a crucial part in revenue growth for the Laboratory Sciences department, serving both Pre-clinical and clinical stage clients. Responsibilities include generating inquiries from clients, prioritising business development leads, and adhering to a strategic plan.
Key responsibilities
Identify and solicit potential customers.
Perform market analyses for the designated territory to identify trends, develop sales strategies, and prioritise business development leads.
Prepare for and represent the organization at various meetings and industry events, as well as with clients.
Generate inquiries from new and existing clients, monitor returning customer accounts, and manage proposals to maximize awarded work.
Understand the quotation process, prepare, price, negotiate, and issue accurate pricing proposals, and maintain proposal records.
Issue and negotiate Master Service Agreements, Study Related Contracts, and related terms.
Collaborate with the Laboratory Planning team to schedule studies.
Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and communicate client needs and preferences to internal departments.
Coordinate and plan client visits, attend and assist client visits as necessary, and host clients.
Maintain and update the CRM database.
Act as a resource for clients, facilitating their interactions with the organization.
Contribute to the evolution and improvement of the department through special projects.
Work with the Laboratory Services Team to achieve sales and revenue targets.
Train and support other members of the Business Development Team.
What You'll Need to Succeed
A University-level degree in a Scientific field is preferred; an MBA is an asset.
Driven with an entrepreneurial mind set
5+ years experience in a similar role
Proven track record working in a CRO Sales position with experience in the US market
Strong communication and persuasion skills.
Experience in Clinical or Pre- Clinical Space
Excellent presentation skills.
Effective follow-up and organisational skills, with perseverance and self-motivation.
Demonstrated professionalism.
Travel is a significant component of the role with frequent trips to EU and US.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and Salesforce.
