Sales Development Specialist (Commercial & Multifamily Roofing)

$50,000 - $60,000 Base + 1.5% - 2.5% Commission + Uncapped Earnings


The Externals Group are partnering with a well-established commercial roofing contractor seeking a motivated Sales Development Specialist to join their growing Commercial and Multifamily division. This is a hands-on, outbound sales role with full support from estimating, operations, and leadership, offering a clear path to career growth.


The Role:


As a Sales Development Specialist, you will drive revenue by re-engaging dormant leads, prospecting new opportunities, and moving projects through the sales pipeline from initial contact to close. You’ll work closely with estimating and operations teams to ensure accurate quotes and smooth project delivery.


A Day in the Life:


  • Re-ignite dormant commercial and multifamily roofing leads (60+ days old).
  • Prospect and generate new business opportunities using calls, emails, and database tools.
  • Track and manage your sales pipeline to ensure consistent follow-up and deal progression.
  • Coordinate with estimating to cost jobs and prepare proposals.
  • Send proposals, follow up, and close deals across commercial and multifamily projects.
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine strategies and maximize revenue.


What You’ll Bring:


  • Outbound sales experience or a strong desire to grow in a sales career.
  • Highly organized, accountable, and consistent work habits.
  • Ability to manage a full sales cycle from follow-up to close.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to exceed targets and grow professionally.


What’s on Offer:


  • Base salary of $50,000 - $60,000 plus 1.5% - 2.5% commission on projects.
  • Uncapped commission - realistic first-year earnings of $80,000 - $100,000.
