[Reternship] Treasury Project Manager (Cashflow Optimisation Project)

This 3-month project opportunity is part of the Social Service Reternship Programme, where our Reternees contribute their expertise to charities through a short-term project (Stipend-based, SGD 1,500/month). Upon project completion, both participant & charity will decide on longer-term arrangements if suitable. About Project: Treasury Project Manager (Cashflow Optimisation Project)

To establish a robust and systematic process for regular cashflow projection that enables the organisation to optimise idle cash, placing them into fixed deposits and investment funds. This process should not only support short-term cash management but also tie back to the organisation’s broader financial planning cycles, including the budgeting and forecasting processes and achieve the below objectives:  

  • Ensure alignment between planned expenditures, funding inflows, and actual cash positions.  
  • Identify periods of surplus or shortfall in advance, enabling proactive decision making on investments, funding, or cost adjustments.  
  • Enhance the accuracy and relevance of cashflow projections.  
  • Provide a consistent cashflow management approach for periodic treasury planning.  
  • Strengthen governance and internal controls over cash utilisation while optimising returns from surplus cash.


Job Responsibilities & Project deliverables  

  • Review current cashflow management practices and data sources.  
  • Design and implement a practical cashflow projection model (templates, tools, or system-based approach) for at least 12 months rolling forecast.  
  • Develop treasury management SOP/ procedures to ensure consistent and accurate cashflow projection.  
  • Train finance staff on using the templates and embedding the process into monthly routines.  
  • Provide recommendations on cashflow optimisation (e.g. FD placements, investment timing).  
  • Recommendations on governance and controls for ongoing cashflow monitoring  
  • Deliver a final handover package (process documentation, templates, training materials).


Job Specifications  

Minimum Education / Qualifications 

Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.  


Minimum Years of Relevant Experience 

Minimum 5 -8 years of experience in Treasury Management.  


Knowledge/Skills 

  • Proven track record in designing and implementing cashflow forecasting processes.  
  • Strong financial modelling skills (Excel or financial systems).  
  • Ability to train and upskill finance teams on treasury matters.
