We’re representing a national private equity services firm seeking a Staff or Senior Accountant to support one of their key clients, a well-established investment management company based in Baltimore. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional interested in working within private equity and real asset investments while gaining hands-on exposure to fund and project-level accounting.
About the Role
This position will play a key role in supporting the accounting and financial reporting for multiple investment projects. The role offers a blend of fund-level and project-level accounting responsibilities, and works closely with senior leadership on a variety of complex financial and operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly reconciliations, cash transfers, and project cash analyses
- Track accounts receivable, credit sales, and related commissions
- Assist with quarterly fund reporting, including trial balances, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Support capital call and distribution tracking, investor reporting, and tax reporting processes
- Contribute to investment roll-forward schedules, valuation summaries, and financial statement preparation
- Collaborate on process improvements and system implementations
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support for management and investor requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 2+ years of accounting or general ledger experience (public or private)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems (Yardi a plus)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
