JMAC Group is hiring certified and safety-driven Traffic Control Flaggers for a high-priority railroad construction initiative. If you're experienced in railroad safety protocols and passionate about protecting work crews and the public, we want you on our team.
Summary:
This position involves maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow near active rail lines, coordinating with crew members and equipment operators, and upholding strict safety standards. Candidates with specific railroad safety certifications will be prioritized due to the complexity and risks associated with on-track operations.
Responsibilities:
Direct traffic and pedestrian flow in and around active railroad work zones
Guide construction and rail equipment near high-risk areas and public thoroughfares
Professionally interact with the public, crew members, and supervisors
Keep work zones free of traffic hazards and notify team of incoming risks
Stay alert to changing conditions and react quickly to maintain safety
Use two-way radios and Airport VHF Transceiver to coordinate traffic operations
Attend daily and monthly safety briefings
Support labor crews in setup, cleanup, and other site tasks as needed
Follow JMAC safety policies and railroad-specific safety procedures
Work flexible schedules, including overtime and nights/weekends
Certifications:
FRA 213 Track Inspection Training – preferred for rail safety oversight
ATSSA Flagger Certification – required for traffic control qualification
RWIC (Roadway Worker in Charge) Certification – preferred for managing rail interactions
RWP (Roadway Worker Protection) Certification – strongly recommended
Operating Rules Training – required for railroad job site compliance
Requirements:
Must be reliable, safety-focused, and professional
Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
Capable of standing for long periods
Reliable transportation required
Background screening is mandatory
Valid driver’s license with a clean record – strongly preferred
