Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Research Tax Credit (RTC) Associate to join our Houston-based team. Reporting to a Manager or Senior Manager, you will support R&D tax credit studies by gathering technical and financial data, preparing documentation, and learning the fundamentals of the RTC process. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for tax incentives, technical writing, and collaborative work in a professional services environment.


Responsibilities:

·        • Establish a number of billable hours per month with support from leadership.

·        • Support project teams in delivering high-quality R&D tax credit studies.

·        • Assist with gathering technical and financial documentation from clients.

·        • Conduct preliminary analyses of confidential data under the guidance of senior team members.

·        • Document qualified activities in compliance with tax credit regulations.

·        • Support the preparation of the T661 tax form and related documentation.

·        • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and finance professionals to understand client R&D activities.

·        • Track time and activities accurately in Salesforce CRM on a daily or weekly basis.

·        • Assist with drafting technical reports and ensuring data completeness.

·        • Learn and apply SR&ED guidelines and related regulations to project work.

·        • Engage in internal training to progress toward SME status.

·        • Contribute to team meetings, process improvements, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

·        • Communicate with CRA and clients regarding project updates, under supervision.

·        • Support the invoicing and project closeout process as needed.


Basic Qualifications:

·        • Minimum of 0–1 years of experience in R&D Tax Credit or tax incentive programs.

·        • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, or a related field from an accredited university.

·        • Interest in building expertise in R&D tax credits and working with technical professionals.

·        • Strong research and communication skills, both written and verbal.

·        • Keen attention to detail and ability to manage tasks independently.

·        • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment and travel up to 25% as needed.


Preferred Qualifications:

·        • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools.

·        • Prior internship or entry-level experience in tax, accounting, or consulting.

·        • Exposure to SR&ED or other government incentive programs is a plus.
