Role: IT Support Engineer (2nd Line)

Location: Calne (Hybrid – minimum 1 day per week in office, plus on-site work across Wiltshire)

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

Our client, a respected Microsoft Partner, is seeking a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their growing technical team. This role offers a great mix of helpdesk and project-based work, supporting a range of customers both remotely and on site across Wiltshire.


It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, hands-on problem solving, and delivering quality technical support in client-facing settings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support to customers across multiple environments
  • Configure and troubleshoot PCs, servers, firewalls, and network infrastructure
  • Manage incidents and requests through the service desk, ensuring SLAs are met
  • Carry out regular system checks, backups, and documentation updates
  • Support internal IT systems when required
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and project teams to deliver on-site solutions
  • Maintain strong communication and high levels of customer satisfaction


About You

  • At least one year’s experience working within an MSP or ISP environment
  • Confident with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Azure sync environments
  • Skilled in desktop and network troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential for travel across client sites)
