Project Manager (Engineering)
£55,000 - £60,000 per annum + Benefits
Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days at home)
Gloucester
Permanent Position
The Opportunity
This role is for a proactive, delivery-focused Project Manager with experience in engineering projects and who is at home with the compliance landscape associated with them. It will suit a true starter-finisher who enjoys turning ambiguity into structure and successful project delivery – someone who cares about the value and quality of the work they contribute as part of a wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, plan and deliver multiple projects ensuring delivery to agreed scope, time, cost and quality
- Develop integrated project plans and schedules, manage critical paths, interdependencies and milestones using tools such as monday.com and MS Project
- Proactively identify, track and manage project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, including clear mitigation plans and escalation routes
- Maintain robust project governance: prepare and lead status reviews, stagegate meetings and steering sessions, with clear reporting on progress and key KPIs
- Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, commercial, supply chain, service, suppliers and compliance bodies) to keep activities moving and remove blockers
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders at all levels, providing transparent, timely updates, especially when plans change or issues arise
- Operate effectively in environments with uncertainty or skeleton processes, helping to shape and improve ways of working while still delivering at pace
About You:
- A starter-finisher who takes ownership from concept to completion, with a strong sense of urgency and pride in detailed, high-quality delivery
- Highly organised, structured and relentless in driving progress; you chase answers, remove ambiguity and do not sit back waiting for direction
- Confident and clear in your communication, unafraid to speak your mind or challenge constructively, but always respectful during conflict
- Comfortable with uncertainty, evolving requirements and light-touch processes, able to build just enough structure to keep teams aligned without overcomplicating
- Motivated primarily by the impact and value of your work rather than hierarchy, titles or rapidly “climbing the ladder”
Skills Required:
- Proven project management experience in the engineering (or closely related) industry and with exposure to relevant regulatory frameworks and the manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders, including technical, commercial and operational groups, often across multiple sites.
- Strong skills in project planning, risk and issue management, reporting, budgeting and stakeholder communication.
- High proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as monday.com and MS Project, or equivalent platforms
- Excellent interpersonal skills: able to influence without authority, build rapport quickly and handle challenging conversations constructively
