Role: Infrastructure Support Engineer

Location: Gloucestershire (Hybrid – Home-based with UK-wide client travel)

Salary: £30-40,000


Are you an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer looking for a role where you can take real ownership, broaden your technical expertise, and work with a variety of cutting-edge technologies?


This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing MSP with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality IT support and projects. You’ll be working with a diverse client base across the education sector and beyond, providing both remote and onsite technical support while also contributing to key infrastructure projects.


The Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering 2nd and 3rd line support across networks, servers, and cloud environments.
  • Acting as the escalation point for Helpdesk issues.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, networks, and Windows Servers.
  • Supporting Microsoft 365, Intune, and modern identity/security platforms.
  • Contributing to client-facing projects and technical assessments.
  • Building strong relationships and acting as a trusted technical advisor.


What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will bring strong infrastructure and support experience, ideally gained within an MSP or multi-client environment.


Essential skills:

  • Solid networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, routing, subnetting).
  • Proven experience with firewalls (Fortinet or similar).
  • Strong Microsoft 365, Intune & Azure AD/Entra ID experience.
  • Web filtering and email security solutions.
  • Background in 2nd/3rd line service desk delivery.


Desirable experience:

  • Exposure to the education sector.
  • Hyper-V, VMware or HPE server/storage solutions.
  • Backup technologies (Veeam, Acronis, etc.).
  • Endpoint protection solutions (e.g. Sophos, SentinelOne).


Above all, you’ll be customer-focused, an excellent communicator, and confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
