HR & People Advisor - Multi-Site Operations

Location: Mitcheldean with travel to a handful of sites

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (flexi time )

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (negotiable)

Intro

This is real-life Human HR, not beige HR. A brand-new role in a genuinely collaborative environment. You’ll work side-by-side with the HR Manager, shaping how people, policy and operations fit together, with a clear runway to step into management. The business is proudly family-run and growing fast - you’ll help nurture and evolve our people-first culture while supporting the wider team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Be the go-to HR & People partner for managers and teams across multiple sites
  • Support & lead on ER matters as needed (attendance, performance, grievance/disciplinary) in close partnership with the HR Manager
  • Change & growth work — contribute to organisational changes, incl. TUPE when it arises
  • Hiring & onboarding support end-to-end hiring, keep pipelines warm and plans tidy
  • Payroll cover (Sage) for holidays/absence; keep HRIS up to date and GDPR watertight
  • Audit preparation & readiness (customer/supplier/compliance) with policies people actually use
  • Pitch in when needed: site visits, sleeves-rolled-up problem solving

What we’re looking for

  • Several years’ UK HR generalist experience (ideally 3–7+), with confident ER delivery
  • CIPD Level 3+ (or actively studying) - have L3 already? They’ll sponsor you to Level 5
  • Payroll-literate (Sage/Xero preferred) and comfortable taking the wheel when required
  • A people-first communicator who earns trust quickly in busy operational settings
  • Full UK driving licence and the ability to be on site when it matters

Nice to have (not deal-breakers)

  • Experience with TUPE/re-orgs, multi-site or seasonal workforces
  • External audit/compliance exposure in regulated environments
  • Coaching/mediation skills; strong HRIS habits
  • Comfortable supporting colleagues whose first language isn’t English

What’s in it for you?

  • 23 days’ holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • Private Medical Insurance, NEST pension
  • Very collaborative: Family-run vibe, work closely with the HR Manager; ideas welcomed, decisions shared, open door policy across director-level
  • Progression is real: role designed with succession to HR Manager in mind
  • Flexi time
  • Hybrid once established
  • Development that counts: structured CPD + CIPD L5 sponsorship (if you’re at L3)
  • Your voice and opinion is valued: ER, talent, audits, payroll cover, projects - your decisions land fast
  • Salary reviews post-probation
  • Travel to UK sites with occasional overnights (planned, not constant)
