Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a background in mechanical fabrication and assembly? Looking for a hands-on role where you can make a real impact on manufacturing efficiency and workflow?
We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Gloucester, supporting the end-to-end production process of bespoke mechanical equipment. This is a key role that acts as a bridge between engineering and the workshop – ensuring smooth communication, accurate documentation, and timely delivery of components.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Creating and maintaining detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for mechanical assemblies
- Managing engineering drawings, issue control, and revision updates
- Coordinating with engineering, purchasing, and the shop floor to manage material flow
- Updating the MRP system with material status, shortages, and order tracking
- Providing the workshop with accurate kits, documentation, and assembly aids
- Supporting quality control, traceability, and inspection readiness
- Solving production queries in collaboration with engineering teams
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or fabrication engineering role
- Strong understanding of mechanical or special-purpose equipment
- Confident reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and assembly layouts
- Familiar with MRP or ERP systems
- Great coordination and communication skills across teams
Bonus Points For:
- Knowledge of mechanical fabrication standards (e.g. MEP)
- Awareness of workshop safety procedures and site readiness
