About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing, Toronto-based alternative mortgage platform entering a critical phase of institutionalization. With growing assets under management across multiple related entities, they are building out a more robust finance function to support their next stage of growth. For someone who enjoys solving complex problems, improving systems, and partnering with entrepreneurial leaders, this role offers a clear trajectory for growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle accounting multiple entities, including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Supervise and mentor a small finance team (AR and AP Staff) while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Prepare regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with IFRS and fund accounting principles.
• Support in delivery of financial reporting and analysis, including KPIs, portfolio performance, budgeting, forecasting, and ECL analysis.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or ACCA designation preferred.
• ~5+ years of experience in high-volume accounting environments (e.g., lending, investment, or fund accounting).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and private company financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks and Mortgage Automator
