The Opportunity:

Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Senior Corporate Controller Consultant to step into a critical corporate controllership role during a pivotal period of post-acquisition integration and restructuring. With significant changes underway following a major acquisition, this contract position (9 months to start) will support complex technical accounting, ERP system integration, and financial reporting. If you’re a hands-on finance leader with a proven ability to execute under pressure, this is an opportunity to directly impact the financial stability and operational efficiency of a company undergoing transformation.


What You’ll Be Doing:

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the corporate controllership function, providing guidance to plant controllers and ensuring consistency in financial processes across the organization.
  • Support preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Oversee month-end close entries including severance, restructuring accruals, and transaction-related costs.
  • Develop and maintain fixed asset continuity schedules and perform impairment reviews.
  • Review receivables and inventory provisions at the plant level.
  • Support the external audit process for the delayed FY2024 audit.
  • Assist in chart of accounts mapping and drive system integration between acquired and existing operations.
  • Prepare and validate calculations for DSO, DPO, and other key metrics.
  • Implement control improvements and participate in balance sheet reviews.


Deliverables Include:

  • Timely and accurate month-end journal entries and technical memos.
  • Completed financial statements and audit support packages.
  • Impairment testing documentation and fixed asset schedules.
  • Aligned and rationalized chart of accounts structure.
  • Improved integration between ERP systems post-acquisition.
  • Effective communication protocols with plants for restructuring tracking.
  • Practical improvements to control environment and balance sheet integrity.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven track record of execution in complex, deadline-driven finance environments.
  • Strong technical accounting skills (US GAAP), including impairment testing and asset continuity.
  • Hands-on experience managing financial reporting for public companies or large organizations.
  • Strong command of ERP systems and ability to navigate integrations and chart of accounts realignment.
  • Excellent Excel skills (practical test will be part of interview process).
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload (50–55 hours/week during peak periods).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across functions and locations.


Other Requirements:

  • Must be available to start by mid to late June.
  • Contract will run approximately 9 months.
  • Laptop and systems access will be provided; 2-week setup lead time.
  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
