Accounting Manager


Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Workplace: 4 days in-office, 1 flexible/remote day

Reports To: Senior Director & Divisional CFO

Salary: $110,000-$120,000


The Opportunity

Our client, a leading global company in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their Toronto-based finance team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the financial bridge between operations and corporate leadership, providing senior management with accurate, timely financial information, insights, and recommendations. You will oversee all accounting, reporting, and forecasting activities for a portfolio of operating facilities while managing a direct report and collaborating cross-functionally with teams.


This position offers exposure to complex, capital-intensive assets, providing an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong technical accounting, treasury, and operational finance experience to make a meaningful impact in the energy industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support external reporting, including audited financial statements, lender submissions, and compliance with tax and debt obligations.
  • Partner with Operations, FP&A, and Project Finance teams on budgets, long-range planning, and refinancing activities.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and shareholder distributions.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and advisors on facility-related tax matters.


About You

You’re a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in complex, multi-entity environments. You combine a strong technical foundation in accounting and financial reporting with a deep understanding of operational finance and cash flow management. You’re comfortable collaborating across functions and geographies, and you take pride in delivering accurate, decision-ready financial insights that drive business performance.


Qualifications & Experience

  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within a capital-intensive, publicly traded, or renewable energy environment
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, full-cycle accounting, and financial reporting
  • Experience with treasury management, lender reporting, and cash flow forecasting
  • Exposure to public company reporting and external audit processes
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
