About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a meticulous and motivated Junior Accountant to join their growing finance team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant (or Finance Manager), you will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations of a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants to broaden their experience across payables, receivables, month-end close, and financial reporting while gaining insight into how a scaling business operates. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, helping to ensure financial information is accurate, organized, and readily available, while being supported by experienced finance professionals who are invested in your development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily accounting activities, including data entry, invoice processing, and expense review
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including matching, coding, and tracking payments
  • Prepare basic journal entries under the direction of senior team members
  • Perform routine bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Help maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing supporting schedules and backup
  • Monitor shared finance inboxes and respond to internal inquiries in a timely manner
  • Support the team with audit preparation and assembling required documentation
  • Perform various ad hoc and administrative accounting tasks as needed
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data capture across departments


What You Bring

  • 2–3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a tech or other high-growth environment
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Progress toward a CPA designation is considered an asset
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial reporting concepts
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP/accounting systems
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., lookups, pivot tables, and data manipulation)
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and learn
