Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3 days in office with flexibility)

Employment Type: Contract, Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Contract Length: 3 months


The Opportunity

A fast-growing consumer apparel brand is seeking a Finance Consultant to step in on a 3-month contract to support ongoing accounting operations and process improvements while a permanent backfill search is underway. This role will be integral in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting upcoming audits, and managing reconciliations and analysis across multiple areas of the business. The environment is fast-paced and evolving, so this position requires an independent professional who can hit the ground running and thrive in an ambiguous setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support a 4-day month-end close process, including reconciliations and preparation of reporting packages
  • Perform reconciliations between sales GL and sales platforms, as well as inventory GL and inventory systems
  • Manage prepaids, accrued liabilities (including ad spend reviews), and fixed & intangible assets
  • Conduct OPEX analysis, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date reporting
  • Troubleshoot unusual balances and discrepancies as they arise
  • Assist with AR management and invoicing for wholesale partners (new business line)
  • Support IFRS lease entries and management of new store leases
  • Contribute to Tipalti implementation, including data validation
  • Prepare for upcoming audits (calendar year-end, interim testing, and internal audit testing)
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis (40-50% of workload), primarily using Excel


What You Bring

  • CPA designation required
  • Strong background in full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and reconciliations
  • Experience with financial reporting under IFRS
  • Advanced Excel skills for analysis and problem-solving
  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working in both structured and ambiguous environments


Nice to Have

  • Experience with NetSuite, Shopify, and/or Tipalti
  • Exposure to consumer products, retail, or manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with supporting wholesale operations and AR processes
