About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Financial Analyst to join their collaborative finance team, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers and the business—owning day-to-day accounting activities while also driving insightful analysis for leadership. You’ll be a key player in the month-end close, product costing, sales and margin reporting, and the ongoing improvement of processes that support a modern ERP environment.

You will partner regularly with operations, sales, and other departments, becoming a go-to resource for explaining results and ensuring data accuracy across the ERP and general ledger. If you thrive in a growing, manufacturing-focused organization where your ideas for efficiency and control improvements are welcomed, this opportunity will give you both breadth and depth in accounting, analysis, and cross-functional exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including day-to-day transaction processing and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries and maintain related month-end schedules.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., bank, prepaid expenses, inventory, fixed assets, accruals, allowances, capital leases).
  • Assist with the consolidated month-end close and preparation of internal financial reporting.
  • Perform income statement reviews and actual vs. budget variance analysis; provide clear explanations to management.
  • Analyze, investigate, and help resolve accounting and ERP-related issues, including product costing and variances.
  • Support and update costing information in the ERP to ensure accurate product cost data.
  • Prepare and update sales reporting and analysis on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as required.
  • Compile and prepare commission and rebate calculations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a cross-functional resource to accounts receivable and accounts payable, including employee expense and credit card report processing and coding.
  • Partner with department managers and supervisors to understand business drivers behind financial results and address data quality issues in the ERP.
  • Contribute to process and efficiency improvements in data collection, reporting, and financial/operational workflows.
  • Assist with preparation of year-end working papers for external accountants.
  • Support the monitoring of internal controls and adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready accounting records and respond promptly to internal and external information requests.
  • Perform administrative and clerical tasks related to finance as required.
  • Collaborate professionally with internal and external stakeholders and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting (or a closely related field).
  • 3–5 years of experience in a financial analyst or similar accounting role.
  • Proven full-cycle accounting experience combined with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • ERP system experience; prior experience with Epicor is required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, data analysis, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present information clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
  • Effective listening skills and the ability to respond appropriately to written, verbal, and visual information.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative working relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Accountable and reliable, taking ownership for the quality and accuracy of your work.
  • Comfortable working in a variety of situations and adapting to new responsibilities, systems, and processes.
  • Openness to change; remains productive and solutions-focused during transition periods.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, showing initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound, independent decisions.
  • Calm, discreet approach to handling sensitive or challenging workplace situations.
  • Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion.
