Senior Financial Analyst (Contract – 6 Months)

Location: Hybrid – Downtown Toronto (1–2 days per week onsite)

Start Date: November 2025

Contract Length: 6 months (with potential for short extension for handover)

Compensation: $40-50/hr

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide coverage during a parental leave, supporting the FP&A function through reporting, forecasting, and business partnering activities. This contract role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multiple business units, streamline reporting processes, and play a key role in ensuring accurate, high-quality financial insights across the organization.

This is a hands-on analytical role ideal for someone who enjoys data-driven reporting, stakeholder collaboration, and process improvement within a dynamic environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

Reporting & Analysis

• Manage monthly reporting templates and infrastructure files in Excel, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Extract and clean data from SAP (S4 HANA preferred) for use in management reporting.
• Perform control checks, data validation, and monthly variance analysis.
• Support the month-end close and forecasting cycles, including mid-January and mid-March reviews.

Business Partnering

• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Overhead teams to review performance, forecast updates, and variance commentary.
• Consolidate input and provide analytical insights for meetings with approximately 10 business partners.
• Prepare concise reporting packages and commentary for management discussions.

Forecasting & Budgeting Support

• Assist in preparing, updating, and validating forecast models.
• Provide analytical support to ensure forecasts are data-driven and supported by reliable assumptions.
• Support training and knowledge transfer during onboarding and handover periods.

Process Improvement & Implementation

• Contribute to process automation and reporting improvements.
• May assist with future FP&A tool implementations (e.g., DataRails, Adaptive, Cube, or SAP SAC).

What You'll Bring:

• Advanced Excel proficiency – complex formulas, data manipulation, and multi-tab workbook management.
• SAP experience – preferably with S4 HANA, including direct data extraction and cleanup.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and business partnering.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with non-finance stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical judgment.
• Experience working in fast-paced or multi-entity environments is an asset.
• Exposure to FP&A or reporting tool transitions (DataRails, Adaptive, Cube, or SAP SAC) is a plus.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid role: 1–2 days per week onsite, typically Tuesdays and Thursdays (some flexibility).
• Remote candidates may be considered if they demonstrate strong self-sufficiency and prior experience in similar hybrid or remote FP&A roles.
