About the Opportunity

Our client is a privately held ownership group managing a diversified portfolio of entities, including commercial real estate holdings across Canada. Having previously outsourced their bookkeeping function, they are bringing it in-house — offering the right candidate a chance to build clean, repeatable processes and stronger controls from the ground up.


Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take full ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple sets of books, working closely with leadership and external advisors to keep the finance function accurate, organized, and audit-ready.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle bookkeeping across a multi-entity portfolio, including AP/AR, journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Prepare and submit GST/HST filings and coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors during filing periods.
  • Maintain organized documentation across all entities and support quarterly bank reporting.
  • Prepare Additional Rent and TMI calculations and maintain rent roll schedules for commercial properties.
  • Build and document repeatable processes and controls as the function transitions fully in-house.


What You Bring

  • Solid full-cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally across multiple entities or in a real estate environment.
  • Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Online; familiarity with MS Dynamics is an asset.
  • Intermediate Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage high volumes of transactions across multiple books.
  • A self-starter who enjoys variety, thrives with minimal hand-holding, and takes pride in accurate, timely work.
