About the Opportunity

Our client is a high-growth, private equity-backed software acquirer operating a permanent capital model with a global portfolio of 115+ operating companies. They’re launching an AI-native HQ initiative—a cross-functional effort to redesign how the organization runs through better systems, workflows, data, and operating mindset.

This Head of People Operations contract-to-hire role owns the People pillar of that initiative and works closely with cross-functional leaders across IT, RevOps, Finance, and Legal. Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll be responsible for building modern people infrastructure from the ground up—creating a single source of truth for employee data, deploying AI-enabled workflows, establishing scalable compensation governance, and standing up global people operations and analytics. If you’re energized by greenfield work, ambiguity, and building real systems that drive measurable impact, you’ll have meaningful scope from Day 1.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global HRIS selection and implementation end-to-end (RFP, vendor evaluation, configuration, data migration, integrations, rollout, and change management)
  • Establish a single source of truth for employee data and rationalize how key systems connect (including BambooHR, Greenhouse, Deel, and Radford)
  • Design, ship, and measure AI-enabled workflows and automation across onboarding, employee experience, comp cycles, manager enablement, and knowledge management
  • Own global compensation programs and annual cycles, including job architecture, leveling, salary bands, pay equity, and benchmarking using Aon Radford data
  • Develop a scalable compensation approach that supports a large portfolio environment without creating unique architectures for each operating company
  • Build and document the end-to-end employee lifecycle (offer through offboarding), including SOPs, journey maps, and policy documentation
  • Own global people operations compliance across multiple jurisdictions, partnering closely with internal Legal on employment law, data privacy, and jurisdictional requirements
  • Build the operational engine that supports a decentralized HRBP model, including people services workflows, policy frameworks, and core tools
  • Configure systems and support delivery of core talent programs (performance cycles, nine-box reviews, promotions, workforce planning) and maintain an integrated programs calendar
  • Stand up people analytics and reporting from scratch—defining KPIs, shipping dashboards, and delivering insights (attrition, hiring, compensation, engagement)
  • Ensure people data connects effectively into the broader enterprise data platform
  • Define and build a small team over time (e.g., HRIS Admin, HR Ops Admin, Compensation Analyst), with potential dotted-line partnership from TA Operations

What You Bring

  • 8–12 years of People Operations / HR Operations experience in global organizations
  • Proven ability to lead an HRIS implementation end-to-end (not solely administration of an existing system)
  • Hands-on experience deploying AI and automation within HR functions, with demonstrated impact
  • Experience owning global compensation programs, including job architecture, leveling, salary banding, and benchmarking
  • Background operating in complex, decentralized, multi-entity environments
  • Strong capability in systems thinking—understanding data flows and how people data integrates into broader platforms
  • Comfortable building in ambiguity and establishing structure where little exists

Nice to have

  • Workday implementation experience
  • M&A integration background
  • Equity and/or executive compensation exposure
  • Experience managing teams in India or Pakistan
  • Consulting mindset
