Position: Accounts Payable (A/P) Supervisor

Location: Burlington, Ontario (Onsite – 4 days per week, Mon-Thurs)

Contract Length: 3-4 months interim (with strong potential to extend/longer term)

Hourly Rate: $50-55/hr


Our client is a well-established Canadian organization that has recently undergone a change in ownership, creating an increased focus on operational efficiency and process improvement within its finance function. They are looking for a strong leader who can bring stability and hands-on execution to their Accounts Payable team during this period of transition.


What You’ll Do (First 3-4 Months)

  • Leadership & Stability: Take ownership of the Accounts Payable function, providing a steadying presence while actively leading day-to-day execution.
  • System Deployment: Collaborate with consultants to implement Microsoft Business Central workflows, document processes, and ensure integrations are functioning correctly.
  • AP Operations Excellence:
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Manage cash requirements listings.
  • Prepare EFTs and wire payments for approval.
  • Support accruals and general accounting during month-end close.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across the Finance & Accounting function to reduce silos and ensure AP is fully integrated into broader financial processes.


Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Microsoft Business Central expertise – required.
  • Strong background in complex AP environments (multiple systems, integrations, high invoice volume).
  • Previous experience as an AP Supervisor or blended AP/Accounting professional.
  • Hands-on knowledge of reconciling supplier statements, cash listing management, EFTs/wires, and month-end accruals.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and stabilize underperforming teams.
  • College or university education in accounting/finance.


Candidate Profile

  • Hands-on executor who can both lead and roll up their sleeves.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, high-change environments.
  • Detail-oriented, communicative, and able to bring structure to the AP function.
