Salary: $65,000–$75,000

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established tourism company with operations spanning multiple entities and currencies. Following a recent reorganization of the finance function, this General Accountant role is being brought back to support a growing accounting team. Reporting into an Assistant Controller, you'll own a hands-on remit across bank reconciliations, fixed assets, overhead accounting, and FX — with a clear path to grow into a Senior Accountant role over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post bank reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies, including China operations
  • Own fixed asset accounting, including tracking and reporting for the company's owned vessel
  • Process and review overhead entries, including prepaid amortization and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Perform FX processing in SAP and sense-check outputs for accuracy
  • Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and variance analysis
  • Prepare and file GST returns
  • Provide evidence and reporting support for external audits and internal controls (quarterly)
  • Identify and support process improvement and automation initiatives across the accounting function

What You Bring

  • 2–4 years of full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end close
  • Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaids, and balance sheet recs — these are must-haves
  • Strong variance analysis skills; comfortable explaining the story behind the numbers
  • Exposure to multi-currency accounting; multi-entity experience is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with IFRS (highly preferred)
  • Experience in SAP or a similar ERP
  • Working towards or holding a CPA designation (or international equivalent) — the team actively supports professional development

Nice to Have

  • Experience with FX processes and hedging concepts
  • Exposure to GST/indirect tax filings
  • Interest in or experience with process automation and AI tools in an accounting context
