About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing SaaS company that has invested significantly in go-to-market leadership and is now ready to elevate finance into a fully strategic function. Reporting into senior leadership and partnering closely with board-level investors, the Head of Finance will own financial planning, modeling, and decision support while remaining hands-on enough to step into accounting and operational finance when needed.

 

You’ll join a lean, high-performing finance team and take ownership of an established but under-leveraged tech stack. Your mandate will be to evolve this environment into a scalable, automated, and insight-driven finance engine that can support a business growing from approximately $8M toward $13M+ in revenue and beyond.

 

This role is ideal for a director-level, entrepreneurial finance leader who thrives in high-growth SaaS environments, enjoys rolling up their sleeves, and is motivated to elevate finance from a transactional function to a strategic partner. You’ll play a key role in strengthening forecasting, modeling, pricing, and commercial decision support — helping shape the next chapter of growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, including ownership of the company’s financial model.
  • Run scenario and sensitivity analyses (e.g., hiring plans, marketing spend, pricing changes) and present clear recommendations to leadership.
  • Build and maintain reliable reporting on key SaaS metrics such as ARR, churn, pipeline, segment/geography performance, and unit economics.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across finance and revenue systems.
  • Oversee core finance operations, including month-end close, reconciliations (revenue/FX), expenses, payments, and cash visibility.
  • Drive process improvement and automation across the finance stack to reduce manual work and improve speed and accuracy.
  • Partner closely with go-to-market and Customer Success leaders on revenue reporting, commissions, and customer-level analytics.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, oversight, and guidance to the existing finance team while gradually reducing reliance on external fractional finance/RevOps support.

 

What You Bring

  • Director-level finance experience in a high-growth SaaS or recurring-revenue environment.
  • Strong FP&A background with proven ownership of budgets, forecasts, and financial models used for decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics and drivers, including ARR, churn, pipeline, cohorts, and unit economics.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform scenario planning and translate analysis into clear, practical recommendations for leadership.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to step into accounting tasks, month-end close, and reconciliations when needed.
  • Experience working with modern finance and revenue system.
  • Strong systems and data mindset, with a track record of improving data quality, reconciliations, and reporting reliability.
  • Experience streamlining and automating finance processes while maintaining appropriate controls and governance.
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills, able to work closely with founders and functional leaders.
  • Entrepreneurial, low-ego mindset and comfort operating in a fast-moving, less-structured environment, building from imperfect foundations.
