About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading distributor in the medical products space, is looking for a hands-on Corporate Controller to join their North America Shared Services team. Reporting directly to the VP Finance, you will be the key finance leader driving accurate reporting, robust controls, and continuous improvement across multiple entities and ERP systems.
You will oversee the full month-end close and consolidation process, manage core transactional functions (A/R and A/P), and ensure a strong internal control environment. Leading a small, capable team of accounting and administrative professionals, you’ll shape processes, mentor staff, and partner closely with commercial and functional leaders to support data-driven decisions. This is a hybrid role based in Mississauga, offering the opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing, operationally focused organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full month-end close for multiple legal entities, including consolidation, within corporate timelines.
- Prepare and review financial analyses to explain results and support management decision-making.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to ensure effective working capital and cash flow management.
- Partner with commercial and functional leaders to provide accounting insight and guidance on business initiatives.
- Continuously assess and refine financial processes, systems, and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process and system improvements across the finance function.
- Establish, maintain, and monitor a strong internal control environment to protect company assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of finance and administrative professionals, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary contact for internal and external auditors, coordinating audit requirements and responses.
- Support the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes as required.
- Respond flexibly to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from various stakeholders.
What You Bring
- CPA designation and a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce).
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including at least 3 years in a people leadership role.
- Proven experience managing month-end close, consolidation, and transactional finance operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Hyperion, Microsoft Power BI and/or Dynamics CRM considered an asset.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret financial data and provide clear insights.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving process improvements.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to build effective relationships across the organization.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment based in Mississauga, ON.
