About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Toronto is seeking a Plant Controller to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site-level financial planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and standard costing processes to support achievement of financial targets.
- Provide day-to-day financial decision support through data-driven analysis, cost modeling, and variance insights.
- Drive monthly financial reviews, including standard vs. actual cost analysis, and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Own site financial standards, cost drivers, internal controls, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Partner on capital planning and provide financial evaluation of capital expenditure proposals.
- Support new product introductions and portfolio changes through robust financial and costing analysis.
- Collaborate with site leadership to develop, track, and deliver value creation initiatives.
- Manage site cash flow with a focus on inventory, cost efficiency, and capital spending.
What You Bring
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; CPA or equivalent experience preferred.
- 7–10 years of finance experience, including 3–5 years in a manufacturing or site-controlling role.
- Strong business partnering and communication skills with the ability to influence and drive action.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Solid experience with cost accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and capital expenditures.
- Self-driven, operationally focused, and comfortable making day-to-day decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional business acumen.
- High proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office; experience with digital or automation tools is an asset.
- Working knowledge of internal controls and financial processes within a manufacturing environment.
