About the Opportunity

Our client is a private equity-backed leader in Canada's hospitality sector, operating a diverse portfolio of restaurants, event spaces, and strategic partnerships with revenues in the $250–500M range. With a growing team of 1,000+ employees and a mandate to strengthen its finance function, this is a compelling opportunity for an intermediate accountant ready to own key day-to-day activities in a dynamic, multi-location environment. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the General Accountant will support the full month-end close cycle and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as the organization scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations to support the month-end close.
• Support financial statement preparation and assist with intercompany transactions and reporting.
• Assist internal and external auditors and support audit readiness and internal controls.
• Prepare HST/GST returns and contribute to KPI reporting and variance analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual workarounds and improve data accuracy.

What You Bring

• Post-secondary education in Accounting; CPA designation in progress is a strong asset.
• Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables) required; experience with NetSuite, ADP, or Power BI is an asset.
• Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and the month-end close process.
• Knowledge of IFRS and/or ASPE is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
