About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing, PE-backed organization undergoing rapid expansion and change. Reporting directly to the CFO, this Interim Controller mandate is a chance to step into a high-impact leadership role, bringing structure and stability to a scaling finance function. You’ll oversee a small but critical core accounting team (analyst and accounting managers), coordinating month-end close, financial reporting, and audit activities, while partnering closely with the Director of Finance and Revenue/Billing leads who own deeper process and systems work.

This role is ideal for a seasoned finance leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, guiding junior team members, and operating in an evolving environment with multiple international subsidiaries. You’ll also act as a thought partner to the CFO in assessing and refining the future-state finance org structure.

---

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day core accounting operations for a small team (analyst and accounting managers), providing coaching, direction, and oversight.
  • Own and manage the month-end close process (currently a 5-day close), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and coordination across teams.
  • Lead preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including consolidation of inputs from Accounting, Revenue/Billings, and FP&A for delivery to the private equity sponsor and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage the year-end audit, serving as main point of contact for external auditors and internal teams.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with local accountants and internal team members across multiple international subsidiaries (e.g., Eastern Europe, Taiwan, China).
  • Review and validate journal entries, account reconciliations, and key control activities as needed to ensure a solid accounting foundation.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance and other leads who are focused on detailed process and systems improvements in AP and AR, ensuring alignment and clear ownership of processes.
  • Work closely with the CFO to assess, recommend, and help design an effective long-term finance and accounting organizational structure.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and support to relatively junior team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

---

What You Bring

  • Professional accounting designation is preferred.
  • Progressive senior accounting/finance experience, including prior experience at a Controller or Senior Manager/Director level.
  • Strong background in financial reporting and month-end close management, ideally in a multi-entity or multi-jurisdiction environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or being a key contact for year-end financial statement audits.
  • Solid technical accounting foundation and understanding of core accounting processes (GL, journal entries, reconciliations, controls).
  • Proven people leadership skills with a track record of managing, mentoring, and developing junior to mid-level accounting staff.
  • Comfort operating in a dynamic, changing environment where processes and structures are still evolving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners (including local accountants and auditors).
  • Hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” approach, balanced with the ability to see the bigger picture and help shape long-term structure and processes.
  • Availability to commit to a full-time, six-month contract, working fully remotely.
