About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing, Toronto-based alternative mortgage platform entering a critical phase of institutionalization. With growing assets under management across multiple related entities, they are building out a more robust finance function to support their next stage of growth. For someone who enjoys solving complex problems, improving systems, and partnering with entrepreneurial leaders, this role offers a clear trajectory for growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting and consolidated reporting across multiple entities.
  • Reconcile the mortgage administration platform to the general ledger and maintain trust account controls.
  • Develop and deliver core financial reporting, including KPIs, portfolio yield, and variance analysis.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow modelling, and ECL analysis to support decision-making.
  • Strengthen internal controls, support external audits, and drive process and systems improvements.


What You Bring

  • CPA designation with proven experience in full-cycle accounting within financial services, lending, or similar high-volume environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE/IFRS reporting, Canadian corporate tax, and private company financial reporting.
  • Hands-on FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and business insights.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, intermediate Excel skills, and experience with mortgage or loan administration systems (e.g., Mortgage Automator).
  • A low-ego, self-directed approach, comfortable operating in ambiguity and building processes in a scaling, entrepreneurial business.
