Job Title: Controller

Location: Toronto

Salary range: $120,000-130,000


The Opportunity:

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Controller to oversee our client's full cycle accounting operations and lead a team of four direct reports. This role is crucial in producing accurate and timely budgets, financial reports, and reconciliations to support informed decision-making and resource management. As Controller, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams and play a key role in driving financial insights and improving processes.


What You'll Do:

  • Oversee full cycle accounting operations, including month-end close, year-end processes, and day-to-day financial operations
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of four direct reports
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, variance analyses, and reconciliations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support planning, forecasting, and reporting initiatives
  • Monitor and improve accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support upcoming projects such as process re-engineering, systems implementations, and M&A activities


What You'll Bring:

  • CPA designation
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting roles
  • Experience in various areas such as AR, AP, payroll, financial reporting, and financial planning and analysis
  • Experience in a growth stage or scale-up company is an asset
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with the ability to pick up new technology quickly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop cross-functional relationships
