AR Analyst

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Toronto, ON (2 days in office)

Rate: 40-45/hr

Industry: Technology (Energy & Sustainability)

Position Type: Existing Vacancy

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an AR Analyst to join a collaborative finance operations team supporting a fast-moving business with a focus on the Probe & Energy side of operations. Reporting into a senior AR leader, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and customer support while owning key accounts receivable activities—from collections and payment applications to regular aging reviews and account reconciliations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into details, communicating clearly with both internal and external partners, and using strong Excel skills to extract, manipulate, and report on AR data. You’ll be joining an established team (AR and AP) and will have the chance to pivot into adjacent tasks as business needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage collections activities and follow up on outstanding customer balances
  • Complete payment applications accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate professionally via email with internal and external stakeholders regarding AR items
  • Partner with customer support and other internal teams to resolve billing and payment inquiries
  • Run and review the aging report on a regular cadence; identify trends and recurring outliers
  • Investigate reconciliation “rabbit holes” by navigating complex account issues and bringing them to resolution
  • Use Excel to extract reports/data, manipulate datasets, and support AR analysis and reporting needs
  • Support minimal manual billing activities as required
  • Provide occasional AP backfill support (nice-to-have), based on team needs

What You Bring

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable, including collections and payment application
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and reconcile account discrepancies
  • Advanced Excel skills (data extraction, reporting, and data manipulation)
  • Experience working with NetSuite (or the ability to navigate within NetSuite effectively)
  • Strong written communication skills, especially in email communications with stakeholders
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with internal partners (including customer support)
  • Flexibility and willingness to pivot to other tasks as priorities shift
  • AP exposure is an asset (for occasional backfill support)
