Tax Consultant (Canadian Tax & Provisioning)

Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Type: Contract (6 months with potential extension)

Pay: $60–$75/hr (based on experience)


About the Role

Our client is seeking a Tax Consultant to provide specialized support through year-end and audit cycles. This role focuses on Canadian tax provisioning for international subsidiaries, helping to manage the complexity of multi-entity tax accounting and compliance.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Tax and broader finance team to deliver key deliverables tied to Canadian tax, CRA audits, and year-end reporting. The ideal candidate brings deep technical tax experience and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, evolving environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Own and execute Canadian tax provisioning for multiple international subsidiaries.
  • Support year-end close activities, including tax accounting, audit preparation, and documentation.
  • Assist with CRA audit responses, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to improve reporting and compliance processes.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to internal staff learning tax provisioning.
  • Contribute to international tax reporting, primarily focused on Canada but with exposure to U.S. tax considerations.


What You Bring

  • CPA designation (or equivalent) preferred.
  • 5+ years of corporate tax experience, ideally within a multinational or public company environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of Canadian tax accounting and provisioning.
  • Exposure to international tax reporting (U.S. or other jurisdictions considered an asset).
  • Proven ability to manage deliverables independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to solving complex tax issues.
