Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Java / AWS / Python)

📍 Location: Reston, VA (On-Site | Hybrid: Wed–Fri)

💲 Pay Rate: Up to $55/hour (W2)

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with deep expertise in backend development using Java, API architecture, and AWS services, as well as proficiency in developing Lambda functions in Python. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting a key financial services initiative within a high-impact team.

🚨 Key Details:

• Candidates must currently reside in Reston, VA or within a highly commutable distance. (Maryland-based candidates may face long commutes during rush hour.)
• This is a hybrid role (Wed–Fri on-site) at the Reston office, conveniently located across from a metro stop.
• Live onsite interview and coding exercise required.
• Fannie/Freddie experience is a plus but not required. Financial services experience (e.g., Capital One) is helpful.
• Candidates who have completed Java HackerRank or IKM assessments are preferred.

🔧 Core Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and manage RESTful APIs and backend services using Java and the Spring framework.
• Build scalable microservices and integrate with AWS infrastructure.
• Write and deploy Lambda functions in Python to process real-time data and automate event-driven processes.
• Utilize tools like AWS CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, RDS, S3, ECS, ECR, and CloudFormation/CDK for infrastructure and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within a multi-family DUS Gateway team to deliver high-quality, reliable software.

✅ Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of full-stack or backend engineering experience.
• Expertise in Java, Spring, REST API development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless tools and event-driven architecture.
• Strong proficiency in Python for Lambda development.
• Solid understanding of cloud-based monitoring, deployment, and automation.
