About the Role
A UK-based large Independent Connection Provider (ICP), delivering high-profile power infrastructure projects across the UK, is seeking Senior HV Design Engineers (Primary and Secondary) to join its growing international design team. This role is based in Bengaluru, India, supporting the delivery of innovative, sustainable, and technically challenging substation projects across the UK.
⚠️ Please Note: Experience working on UK power projects is essential. Candidates without relevant UK experience will not be considered for this position.
This role is ideal for experienced electrical engineers with strong UK project experience, looking to play a key role in HV design delivery, project coordination, and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead primary and secondary substation electrical designs (up to 400kV), from feasibility to detailed design
- Act as a technical authority and client point of contact on major projects
- Deliver high-quality design outputs, coordinating with UK-based and global teams
- Develop and refine internal design standards, processes, and documentation
- Conduct site surveys, design reviews, and technical interface meetings
- Ensure full compliance with UK regulations, including National Grid and DNO standards
- Provide technical input for tenders, cost estimates, and risk assessments
About You
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards
- Demonstrable experience working on UK substation or HV infrastructure projects (essential)
- Strong expertise in substation primary and/or secondary design
- Deep understanding of UK utility and National Grid design standards
- Proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD, Bentley Substation, or similar
- Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills
