I’m recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist HV and grid connections consultancy supporting commercial property developers across the UK.
This role sits firmly on the client-side / consultancy side of delivery, managing the end-to-end coordination of electricity (HV), gas, water and telecoms connections for complex development projects. It’s ideal for someone used to acting as the interface between developers, DNOs, IDNOs, utility providers and technical consultants.
The Role
As Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of the grid connection and utilities strategy for commercial developments, ensuring projects move efficiently from early feasibility through applications, approvals, design coordination and delivery.
A strong understanding of HV electricity connections is essential, including hands-on experience with G99 and G100 applications and the wider DNO engagement process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of HV and multi-utility connections for commercial property developments
- Act as the main point of contact between:
- Property developers
- DNOs / IDNOs and ICPs
- Gas, water and telecoms providers
- Internal technical and design teams
- Lead and coordinate HV grid connection applications, including:
- G99 and G100 submissions
- DNO negotiations and technical queries
- Capacity assessments and offers
- Oversee programme, risk, and stakeholder management across multiple utility scopes
- Manage consultants, designers and third-party technical advisors
- Track approvals, milestones, and dependencies to ensure utilities align with the wider development programme
- Provide clear reporting to developer clients on progress, risks, costs and timelines
- Ensure all works comply with relevant standards, regulations and utility requirements
About You
Essential
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within a consultancy or client-side environment
- Strong knowledge of HV electricity connections in the UK
- Direct experience managing G99 and G100 applications
- Understanding of the UK DNO landscape and grid connection process
- Experience coordinating multiple utilities (electricity, gas, water, telecoms)
- Confident managing stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences
Desirable
- Background in utilities, energy, power, or infrastructure consultancy
- Experience working on commercial or mixed-use developments
- Familiarity with ICP / IDNO delivery models
- Engineering or technical qualification (not essential)
