The Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN) is actively recruiting a Dental Director to join one of our Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in Omaha, Nebraska, where you will provide high-quality, patient-centered dental care for all. Your Role:
- Lead, manage, and develop Dental planning, programs, and services
- Coordinate the Dental Peer review function and conduct retrospective dental health record audits on a quarterly basis
- Develop and maintain dental clinic policies and procedures, ensure training and regulatory compliance for all dental staff and operations
- Develop and implement annual strategic work plan, supported by monthly written reports and benchmarks submitted to the Chief Executive Officer
- Examine, diagnose, and treat disease, abnormalities, injuries, and/or disorders of the oral cavity
- Emphasize primary prevention inclusive of oral health education, topical and systemic fluorides, periodontal prophylaxis, exams, and dental sealants as appropriate Establish and monitor productivity benchmarks for providers and staff
- May serve as a preceptor for general dentistry residency programs
What We Are Looking For:
- Graduate of an accredited school of dentistry with an unrestricted license to practice dentistry with corresponding DEA registration required
- A minimum of three years of experience practicing as a dentist, plus two to three years of administrative experience in a clinic setting strongly preferred
- Competition of a Dental General Practice Residency or Advanced Education in General Dentistry is a plus
- Experience in FQHC operations, federal and state regulatory compliance, and grant oversight highly preferred
- Ability to foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace culture grounded in clear expectations
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and to make decisions on critical health care programs and issues, and analyze complex information
- Current certificate in BLS
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
