Director of Operations

The Director of Operations leads all day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities, including production, supply chain, facilities, maintenance, and continuous improvement. This role is accountable for safe, efficient, and compliant operations in a manufacturing environment. The Director drives operational performance through Lean manufacturing, disciplined execution, and strong cross-functional leadership, partnering with Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Program Management to achieve delivery, cost, and quality objectives while fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing, production control, supply chain, maintenance, and facilities functions.
  • Establish and manage KPIs for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with government and environmental regulations.
  • Drive Lean initiatives and continuous improvement across operations.
  • Oversee complex manufacturing processes
  • Optimize throughput, equipment utilization, labor productivity, and inventory levels.
  • Lead procurement, supplier performance, scheduling, and logistics activities.
  • Oversee equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
  • Develop, mentor, and hold accountable managers and supervisors across operations.
  • Manage operational budgets, capital plans, cost controls, and productivity initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management.
  • 7+ years manufacturing leadership experience, including plant or operations management.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 is a plus
  • Proven success leading Lean transformations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
