Maintenance Mechanic Technician – 2nd & 3rd Shift

A growing food manufacturing facility in the Bucks Country PA area is seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanic Technicians to support production operations across multiple shifts. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined professionals who thrive in fast‑paced industrial environments and enjoy hands‑on problem solving.

Schedule

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–1:30am (weekends as needed)
  • 3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00pm–6:30am (Fridays as needed)
  • Overtime available; schedules may vary based on production needs


The Maintenance Mechanic Technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production and packaging equipment. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, installing new equipment, and supporting utilities essential to plant operations. Work is performed in accordance with all safety standards and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all workplace safety and health policies; report unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to address equipment issues, unusual conditions, and project priorities.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair production, packaging, and processing equipment.
  • Support installation and integration of new machinery and modifications to existing systems.
  • Conduct routine preventative inspections and complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Provide on‑call support for urgent equipment repairs.
  • Track, order, and manage replacement parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Review manuals, schematics, and technical documentation to stay current on equipment updates.
  • Complete maintenance logs, reports, and work orders accurately.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics; apply systematic troubleshooting methods.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum‑related issues.
  • Troubleshoot the majority of equipment failures efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop a strong understanding of plant machinery and continuously improve technical skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and use maintenance software for work orders.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Fabrication experience (machining, TIG/MIG welding) is a plus.
  • Basic computer and math proficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, supervisors, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Skilled in safe operation of hand tools and power tools.
  • Comfortable working around hazardous materials and heavy industrial equipment.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to a wet, humid, and temperature‑variable production environment.
  • Fast‑paced setting with large industrial machinery.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking and standing throughout the shift.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Ability to bend, climb, crouch, kneel, and reach as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Regular hand/wrist movement and gripping.
