Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer drives safety improvements, develops preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and provides hands-on troubleshooting to maximize equipment uptime. They analyze production delays, implement continuous improvement projects, manage spare parts and SOPs, coordinate contractors, and support project engineering and supervisory tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Install, set up, and align industrial machinery, piping, and structural components.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment, including VFDs, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and plumbing.
  • Service and maintain facility equipment, including forklifts.
  • Lead safety-related equipment and facility improvements, including investigations and corrective actions.
  • Develop, document, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs using techniques such as vibration analysis and thermography.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance teams and on-call troubleshooting to minimize downtime and production loss.
  • Analyze production delay data, generate continuous improvement projects, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare root-cause analysis reports and evaluate the impact on preventive maintenance programs.
  • Develop cost justifications, work orders, and follow-up audits for improvement projects.
  • Coordinate contractor work with minimal impact to production and cost.
  • Manage critical spare parts, standardization, and maintenance documentation.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, training, and skill development for personnel.
  • Establish performance metrics that drive long-term continuous improvement.
  • Perform project engineering tasks and fill in for supervisors or managers as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures and industrial best practices.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of mechanical engineering or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of electrical systems and AC/DC motors (24–600V) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift/move equipment and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Comfortable in industrial environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Close and color vision required.
