Quality Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring product quality, driving continuous improvement, and supporting manufacturing operations. This position will collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, purchasing teams, suppliers, and customers to improve processes, reduce costs, and resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support projects to improve manufacturing operations, instrumentation, and process controls.
  • Implement and monitor cost reduction and quality improvement programs.
  • Manage disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Provide quality assurance support for certifications, releases, and conversion work orders.
  • Investigate and resolve customer quality issues, ensuring effective corrective actions.
  • Participate in internal quality audits and assist with regulatory/external audits.
  • Develop and implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) for critical parameters and new technologies.
  • Support quality control aspects of new product and process development.
  • Maintain and report on quality metrics through weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Initiate Management of Change (MOC) and Manufacturing Process Experiments (MPE) related to product quality.
  • Assist with customer complaints, audits, and quality investigations.
  • Provide backup support for other quality engineers and managers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with Minitab or other statistical software strongly preferred.
  • Proven background in continuous improvement projects and process optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Auditing and investigation experience required.
