Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician

We’re looking for an experienced I&C Technician to support the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems within water and wastewater facilities. This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical and mechanical skills who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving site demands.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install and calibrate sensors, flow meters, level transmitters, and control panels
- Perform wiring, startup, and testing of variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, digital/analog I/O, and instrumentation
- Read and revise electrical schematics, power distribution layouts, and control diagrams
- Handle motor control circuit wiring and interpret complex control panel schematics
- Support field PLC control panel wiring, setup, and documentation
- Conduct installation and testing of electrical and mechanical systems
- Maintain detailed records of service, maintenance, and modifications
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations at all times
- Use electrical/electronic test equipment to validate and diagnose system performance
- Assist in integrating communication systems, including radio and cellular components
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years of experience in I&C systems, with at least 2–4 years as a technician
- Certification in Instrumentation & Controls or a related field is a plus
- Proficiency in electrical wiring and control circuit installation
- Strong ability to interpret schematics and make accurate field revisions
- Familiarity with motor control circuits, analog/digital systems, and power distribution
- Experience with mechanical and electrical equipment installation
- Working knowledge of radio and cellular communication systems
- Valid driver’s license
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
