
Systems Design Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design hydraulic power and control systems for custom industrial machinery and test stands based on customer specifications using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other engineering design software.
- Develop hydraulic system designs and specify components to ensure compliance with customer performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
- Perform hydraulic pressure, flow, and sizing calculations to support machinery motion and system performance.
- Select and specify hydraulic components, including valves, pumps, cylinders, manifolds, proportional controls, and servo control systems.
- Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet project schedules and customer deadlines.
- Validate and verify system designs through testing and performance evaluations to ensure product quality and functionality.
- Provide technical support during system installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer training.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel to support fabrication, assembly, testing, and continuous process improvements.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, bills of materials, and technical reports.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for project documentation and communication.
- Travel as required to customer sites for system startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, and technical support.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing hydraulic power and motion control systems for industrial machinery or automation equipment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic circuit design, component selection, and system sizing.
- Experience with proportional and servo hydraulic control systems.
- Knowledge of PLCs and closed-loop control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
