Our client is a well-established logistics and haulage business based in Newport, currently expanding their European operations. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced European Transport Planner to join their operations team.
This role will involve coordinating European transport movements, planning driver routes and managing shipments from collection through to delivery, while also supporting with customs documentation to ensure smooth cross-border operations.

Role Responsibilities
- Planning and coordinating European transport movements for company drivers
- Managing daily transport schedules, routes and delivery plans to ensure maximum efficiency
- Communicating directly with drivers, providing updates and ensuring progress is monitored throughout journeys
- Maintaining regular contact with drivers to track locations and manage any delays or issues
- Liaising with customers to provide updates on deliveries and manage expectations
- Preparing and processing customs documentation including T Forms, commodity codes and certificates of origin
- Ensuring all shipments comply with customs and international transport regulations
- Booking collections and deliveries and coordinating with customers and suppliers
- Monitoring shipments from collection through to final delivery
- Updating internal systems with transport, shipment and driver information
- Resolving operational issues quickly to minimise disruption to delivery schedules
- Building strong working relationships with drivers, customers and internal teams
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within transport planning, haulage or logistics operations
- Experience coordinating European transport movements
- Knowledge of customs documentation such as T Forms, commodity codes and export paperwork
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and routes
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with drivers, customers and suppliers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and problem solve effectively
- Good IT skills and experience using transport or logistics systems
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of transport operations
