Position: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Stroud

Contract: Permanent | Full-Time

Salary: £36,000 – £44,000 DOE

An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support the reliability and performance of production equipment and facilities. This is a great opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer who thrives in a hands-on role, working across CNC machinery, utilities, and site maintenance.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose faults and repair breakdowns across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Maintain CNC machinery including milling, turning and grinding equipment
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
  • Maintain site services including HVAC, compressed air, and general facilities
  • Work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including fault finding and repair
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards and permit systems
  • Record maintenance activities and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve efficiency


The Person:

  • Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills with electrical knowledge
  • Experience working with CNC machinery and production equipment
  • Ability to fault find and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations (PUWER, LOLER, COSHH desirable)
